Something Contemporary Marbella S.L informs you about the use of cookies on its website: /

What are cookies?

Cookies are files that can be downloaded onto your device through web pages. They are essential tools for the provision of numerous services in the information society. Among other things, they allow a website to store and retrieve information about a user’s browsing habits or their device and, depending on the information obtained, can be used to recognize the user and improve the services offered.

Types of cookies

Depending on the entity managing the domain from which cookies are sent and processing the data obtained, two types can be distinguished:

• First-party cookies: Sent to the user’s device from a computer or domain managed by the publisher itself and from which the requested service is provided.
• Third-party cookies: Sent to the user’s device from a computer or domain not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through cookies.

If cookies are installed from a computer or domain managed by the publisher but the information collected is managed by a third party, they will not be considered first-party cookies.

Cookies can also be classified according to how long they remain stored in the user’s browser:

• Session cookies: Designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are typically used to store information necessary for the provision of a service requested by the user on a single occasion (e.g., a list of purchased products).

• Persistent cookies: Data remain stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie controller, which can range from a few minutes to several years.

Finally, cookies can be categorized by their purpose:

• Technical cookies: Allow users to navigate through a website, platform, or application and use its various options or services, such as traffic control, data communication, session identification, restricted area access, order processing, event registration, security use, video or sound content storage, or social media sharing.
• Personalization cookies: Allow users to access the service with predefined general features based on criteria in the user’s device, such as language, browser type, or regional settings.
• Analytics cookies: Allow the controller to monitor and analyze user behavior on linked websites. Information collected is used to measure website activity and to create browsing profiles for improvements based on usage data.
• Advertising cookies: Enable the efficient management of advertising spaces.
• Behavioral advertising cookies: Store information on user behavior obtained through continuous observation of browsing habits, allowing a specific profile to be developed to display ads accordingly.
• Social media cookies: Allow visitors to interact with content from various social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.). These cookies are generated only for users of those networks and are subject to the respective platform’s privacy policies.

The process for disabling cookies varies with each browser but is usually done through the Tools or Options menu. You can also consult the browser’s Help menu for instructions.
