Isn’t it time you started living the high life in the sun and relax in your own luxury villa in Spain? The area of Marbella in Malaga, on the south coast of Spain in Andalusia, is full of exclusive luxury urbanizaciones, or private estates, the perfect place to live whether you’re moving with the family or retiring. You may already have heard of the New Golden Mile, but here are the best of the rest.
These areas of Marbella have 18-hole golf courses, sheltered private beaches, exclusive clubs, tennis, horse-riding and sailing facilities and houses prices to match. These luxury homes for sale in Marbella aren’t within everyone’s reach, but once you get to know them you’ll see they are definitely everyone’s dream house. So here they are, the ten most exclusive urbanisation resorts in Marbella and Benhavís:
This is a private gated community in the Marbella area that offers great views over the town of Marbella and easy access to the city centre, while still retaining all the privacy and tranquillity that you could wish for in an exclusive villa.
On the eastern edge of Marbella, on the road towards Fuengirola, Torremolinos and Malaga city, is the luxury estate of Los Monteros. Not only does it have a residential area with huge mansions and villas, but it also boasts an excellent Spa and Golf Resort that you absolutely can’t miss.
With the long, golden, sandy beach of Playa de Nagüeles right on its doorstep, the residential area of Nagüeles is characterised by quiet, leafy avenues and comfortable apartments and houses with lots of green spaces, making this the perfect place to unwind.
At the other end of the scale is Puerto Banús, nestled right in the heart of Marbella next to the quayside, which benefits from being in the middle of all the action. Here you have easy access to the shops, restaurants, bars, and of course the luxury yachts in the harbour. No wonder it has one of the highest prices per square metre for property in all of Marbella!
This particular Marbella urbanisation has possibly one of the best golf courses anywhere in the region – the Rio Real Golf & Hotel – and is also within easy reach of several other local golf courses, while most of the real estate property in the area is a mix of apartments and luxury penthouses.
Half way between Marbella city and Puerto Banús is this spectacular urbanización, slap-bang in the middle of the Golden Mile. This truly is a real high-end, luxury destination thanks to the presence of the prestigious Marbella Club and the Puente Romano hotel resort, as well as the palaces and villas that dominate the real estate market here.
Located slightly further inland but still within a short driving distance from urban centres like Nueva Andalucía and San Pedro is the Urbanización Aloha Gardens. This extensive private community is great for families due to its safe and quiet atmosphere and its proximity to international schools in the area.
Moving further out towards Benhavís and El Madroñal, we find the secluded suburb of Los Arqueros, which is less well-known than some of its flashier neighbours but retains a sense of privacy and exclusivity that is unrivalled in Marbella.
Returning to the thick of it, closer to the centre of Marbella, is the cosy little area of Los Naranjos. This place is truly a dream, where you can live in a whitewashed villa or a private detached house surrounded by nature and beautiful gardens, framed by the Andalusian mountains and with the Los Naranjos Golf Club and other sporting facilities close by.
Then there is the Reserva de Alcuzcuz, a select, top end Marbella real estate area which is Malaga’s best-kept open secret. This luxury housing complex has a number of highly exclusive private villas that are strictly for the discerning buyer, with such incredible properties as modern mansions and new constructions of villas for sale.
And one more…
Finally, we couldn’t let you go without a peek at Marbella’s millionaire’s playground, the ultraluxury resort which has some of the highest property prices in the whole of Spain. Superstar celebs such as Hugh Grant, Vladimir Putin and Rod Stewart all own property in La Zagaleta, and it’s where Cristiano Ronaldo took his family on holiday last year to an exclusive Marbella rental at a cost of 40,000 euro a month!
