Marbella FC Foundation to Launch New Stadium Project with €130 Million Investment
Marbella Town Hall has greenlit a major new stadium project spearheaded by the Marbella FC Foundation, marking a significant step forward for the city’s sporting infrastructure. With an estimated investment ranging between €115 and €130 million, the new stadium is set to become an official sub-host for the 2030 World Cup, which will be held in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.
Parallel Demolition and Construction Post-Summer
Mayor Ángeles Muñoz has announced that demolition and construction will commence in parallel after the summer. The revamped stadium will see its capacity rise from 8,000 to 10,000 spectators. Additionally, it will feature a 1,500 square meter high-performance center, a commercial area, a car park with 1,000 spaces, and a sports residence boasting 90 rooms.
Enhancing Marbella’s Sporting and Event Capabilities
“This project will become a reality thanks to the drive, decision, and seriousness of the club in meeting the established requirements,” said Mayor Muñoz. “This will signify a qualitative leap for the town that extends beyond sports.”
The Marbella FC Foundation has consulted with international bodies, including FIFA and UEFA, to ensure the stadium meets all necessary regulations. This compliance will enable the venue to host 2030 World Cup matches, national under-21 men’s and women’s games, friendly matches between renowned international clubs, and a variety of musical events and shows.
